What is Mineral-Added HDPE Plastic Lumber?
LumbeRock™ is a solid material made from HDPE with a non-organic mineral added that makes LumbeRock™ stronger and decreases expansion/contraction common to all plastic lumber.
What colors does LumbeRock™ come in?
LumbeRock™ comes in 9 standard colors. LumbeRock™ colors are deep and vibrant, not pastel colors like you get from most decking materials on the market today. Our color is consistent all the way through the material. No matter which way you cut, router or if the material is scratched or gouged, the color is the same under the surface.
Will colors be the same from manufacturing runs?
Although we make every effort to make sure our colors are matched consistently from manufacturing run to manufacturing run, slight color variations may occasionally occur.

Does the material expand or contract with temperature changes?
Yes, like all alternative wood materials on the market today, LumbeRock™ expands/contracts on the butt ends of the board and requires a small gap to allow for expansion/contraction. See our easy to read expansion/contraction chart under installation instructions.
How should I fasten LumbeRock™?
To fasten LumbeRock™ to the deck frame use stainless steel screws, counter-snap screws or use most standard fastening systems. See our installation section.

Is there potential for static electricity when walking on LumbeRock™?
Yes, as with most other synthetic decking products, given the right conditions, LumbeRock™ does come with the potential for the build-up of static electricity. We use static eliminators in our manufacturing process which dissipates the built up charge in the extrusion process. However, just like with carpet, the potential remains for further build-up of static electricity. We have found that over time static electricity dissipates. Hosing down your deck with a combination of Simple Green and water will also help to dissipate the static electricity. |
