LumbeRock is the next generation of synthetic, maintenance free decking. LumbeRock is a mineral filled high density polyethylene composite deck board that comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

After years of extruding beautiful 100% plastic lumber, we realized that the drawbacks of using this type of material could not be ignored. The problems common with 100% plastic lumber have centered around less strength and greater expansion/contraction.

We developed LumbeRock by adding a mineral to polyethylene and thus have gained greater strength and better expansion / contraction performance while still providing rich looking colored deck boards. LumbeRock has the same great attributes associated with an all plastic product such as no staining, no noticeable fading, and aside from occasional cleaning, is truly maintenance free.

We are in the final stages of gaining ICC certification and expect that to happen very soon. The test data associated with our application is included in our website on the Warranty/Technical page.

A Note About Being Environmentally Friendly

There is a great deal of “noise” out there about environmental claims and “being green”. Unfortunately, it is difficult for the average person to cut through the hype and determine what’s really going on. LumberRock’s claims are simple and are backed up with facts.

Re-use of waste plastic is preferable to the creation of new plastic and the addition of plastic to the waste stream. At least 50% of the plastic we use in our manufacturing process is recycled plastic. At least 10% comes from post-consumer waste streams and the remaining from pre-consumer waste streams.

HDPE (high density polyethylene), the plastic used to make LumbeRock creates no harmful emissions, either during its production or as it is in use by the consumer.

The use of our products can help to achieve LEED’s credits for green building construction under the guidelines outlined by the US Green Building Council.

Finally, while our product comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, our expectation is that once a deck is put up with LumbeRock, it will be there for a long, long time. In the event that a LumbeRock customer decides years down the road to remove their deck for whatever reason, we will make an offer to buy the material back at the going scrap price. This makes LumbeRock a truly recyclable product in addition to being a recycled content product.
